My 5 favourites (June)

So far this month I have been loving these few items and finds. I wanted to share with you my 5 favourites of this month and a quick review on them too, enjoy!

1

Minga London is a clothing store I found through a magazine, yeah I know Minga?
The clothes are quite the opposite to me they are right up my street with an array of prints, patterns and cute quirky pictures too. They do the cutest Ts, hoodies and recently swim wear! Theres so much to choose from as each top comes in 4/5 different colours so you can't help but feel like you're styling your own T.
If you enjoy my style and like what you see then this site is for you!

2

I've been searching for a beautiful matte Red for ages now! I have always raved about Milani matte lip but their Red seems to bleed onto my face now and is very dry no matter how moisturised your lips are before applying. So there I am running around superdrug giving each and every brand a fair chance and I come across Barry M.
What you need to do when searching for a trusty matte is to test the product out on your hand and then carry on shopping. While I fish for other things I will keep checking my hand to see how quickly the matte has dried and most importantly does it rub off? Yes its an important process!
I was so happy to find that this lipstick is not only one of my favourite colours but also has a great drying Matte finish!
It's the perfect red for my oh so pale face, its not too bright and not too dark, plus its affordable. I can't wait to try out their other colours.
So if you're a matte girl like me, try the Barry M matte me up.

Having a Free From diet can be hard enough as it is especially if you're a snacker like me. I found this Trek bar in a petrol station one day and was pleasantly surprised that there was a Free From product in site. I've never been a cereal bar kind of girl but when you're in need for a quick snack when out and about this to me is the go too bar. This beautiful treat is incredibly delicious and a great snack in between meals, I'm so addicted I eat around 1/2 a day!
I pop them in my Gym bag for a snack before my work out or when i'm  on the go running errands they quickly solve that feeling of hunger and keep you going till your next big meal.
You can never beat the feeling of a new find in the Free From isle
:)

I came across Girl Boss on Netflix as it has currently been made into a series and I had no idea what I was getting myself into but the summary seemed inspiring in itself so I dived in.
4 days later I had successfully finished the first season and was instantly googling away to find out if there would be another.
On my search I found the book! I didn't know that this was a true story and I was so inspired watching the series that I just had to know more about this Sophia Amoruso.
I won't ruin it for you but lets just say she slays! I love this book because its funny, easy to read and very inspiring, if Sophia can do it then we all can do it but nothing is sugar coated.
Sophia reminds us that in life no matter how much we want something we have to be willing to put our thoughts onto paper and most importantly action! She worked her ass off building such a massive empire and she practically shows you how. Its a spontaneous success story of a every day woman's grind in life and how she became her own Girl Boss.
For those with big dreams this is for you...
I'm slowly working my way through this book (plus taking notes) as theres so much to learn about the business and I don't want to miss anything out. Take your time reading and enjoy this amazing find.

300 writing prompts is the most fascinating questionnaire I have ever come across. I found this book on twitter from another fan and then bought a copy from Amazon.
I love creative writing and writing Poetry etc and this book is a great task for the brain. It's filled with questions that you'll probably never hear in your every day life but are very intrigued to answer, I feel you learn more about yourself when writing in this book than any other. It certainly revived the creative side in me and I hope it will for you too.
E.q questions-
  • What makes your look distinctly you?
  • Is having power over someone more important than having his or her respect?
  • What would you rename the planets?
  • If you could have any colour skin for a day, what would you choose?
  • Finish the following thought: "I always wanted to go..."
  • What part of your childhood are you glad you left behind?
  • At what point does silence become awkward?
The book goes deep!

Introduction to my hobby plus dancing at Birmingham Arena

So I have this Hobby, I used to juggle many but now its come down to just one. I've wanted to do this for a while now as I know many people Blog/Vlog about Fitness and Lifestyle through Gym workouts and routines but for me I like to balance this out with Dancing!
oh yes dance!!

I spent the first weekend of March in Birmingham where my dance group and I were performing with two well known artists. To cut a long story short I started dancing at a stage school and then joined a group on the side whilst still attending the school.
I always loved watching dance but never had the confidence to pursue it myself till I started performing arts. I quickly became addicted, it felt natural to be dancing as I had waited so long for the confidence to put my thoughts into action!
Now I dance with my closest friends once a week and we have all grown and developed enormously in a short space of time, I have been with this amazing team for only 2 years but have been dancing properly for about 8 years. Our dance style is femme, commercial, street and fierce!! haha.
The opportunities and experiences I have had with this group of inspiring women are some of the best times. So I'm excited to take you all on this journey which will involve-
  • Prepping for a performance
  • Video shoots and how I prep my meals (Free From)
  • Stretching!
  • Juggling Gym sessions around dance
  • Confidence in yourself and training hard!
  • Dance/Rehearsal outfits

My first performance with the Girls x

Rehearsals x

Video Shoot x

Rehearsals for a music video x

On set x

We had the opportunity to perform at the Birmingham Arena at the Brit Asia world music awards on the 4th March. We were backing dancers for Rameet Sandhu plus the feature on her new song Curtis Young.
It took allot of time and prep to make sure this 5 minute routine looked perfect and let me tell you the nerves before the big day was real!
The week before the show I was shaking like a leaf I was so scared to dance in front of so many people plus knowing its being filmed.
I cut down on gym sessions the week before as it was important for me to stretch stretch stretch plus fit in rehearsal times most nights that week.

Heres some of the snacks I took with me for the trip

  •  Snack a Jacks Salt and Vinegar flavour
  • Waitrose Natures store free from chocolate orange rice cakes
  • Tesco's free from pot noodle thai curry
  • Ham and Goats cheese sandwich
  • Tesco's NEW free from cheese flavoured Nachos (delicious)
  • Waitrose lazy day dark chocolate tiffin (my favourite)
As you can see that's allot of snacks for one night away but I was sure not to fill myself up on too much food as I was mostly dancing and jumping around throughout the visit haha
I love my snacks!

So now you know my hobby! From here on I'll keep updating the blog with some dance outfits, fitness updates etc as this is a big part of my life and fitness plan.
I hope you enjoyed this glimpse of my journey x

What I eat in a day

I wanted to share my 'meal plan' to help others who may be gluten/wheat/dairy free like me or for those who may be interested in my everyday intake for fitness and health reasons.
I say 'meal plan' in this way because I'm not one to follow any set guidelines, If I want to eat some free from chocolate I will! Plus I have a fast metabolism. My working day starts at 8 and finishes at 6:30/7 then it's off to the gym!
I listen to my body every single day considering I can suffer from stomach aches due to my Colitis, I make a conscious effort to watch what I eat whilst not depriving myself of treats every now and then.

I hope this gives you an idea of what my everyday meals are like and  how often I eat plus my meal sizes especially on days I am at the gym.
Enjoy!

6:45 Breakfast:
Scrambled Egg plus salt and pepper.
No added milk, just 2/3 eggs.

This is my basic before work brekkie that is quick and easy for me, I'll be full for atleast two hours after breakfast. I start work at 8 and at 10 I will have a snack e.g. Bananas, Plums, Pomegranate.

Saturday Morning:
Free From Tescos rolls with FF Butter, brown sauce and 2 eggs.

I would usually have a bacon sandwich too lol

12:30 Lunch:
Peanut chicken with noodles.

Marinated chicken in soy sauce and lime to tenderise the chicken, then I made a sauce with ginger, garlic, lime zest, honey, curry powder and peanut butter (played it by ear when measuring).
Put the chicken in the marinade with coconut milk and poached it. Then heated it through on a low heat then added the noodles, spinach, green beans. Warm through till ready to eat.

This dish is delicious!! Found the recipe online but can't seem to find the link, this is again all free from! I love a hot lunch so I would usually freeze my meals then defrost when at work.

3:00 Snacks- I would usually snack on dry mango, a free from chocolate snack or my snack a jacks salt and vinegar flavour.

5:30 before Gym meal:
Salmon.
I would usually cook some Salmon at work with turmeric and salt, this works great for me so I'm not majorly hungry during my gym sesh. I always drive straight to the gym from work so I won't be eating till later on that night.

 8:00/8:30 Dinner:
Lamb Meatballs with Rice.

Fry the onions and carrots with the leeks til soft, add the meatballs (Tescoes) and fry them over then add tin of tomatoes with garlic, mixed herbs and lastly spinach.
Plain rice.
I love Meatballs and Rice, they're certainly filling and the mixed veg taste beautiful with it.

I hope you enjoyed this Blog if you'd like to know more about these recipes please feel free to message me on Twitter or Insta.

What I got for Christmas

I hope everybody had a wonderful Christmas with your family and friends. Mine was spent with my massive family eating the finest foods cooked by my wonderful Aunts plus some Mulled Wine and festive fun!
Heres most of my Christmas gifts, I was absolutely spoilt this year; I must of been a very good Girl ;)

 1. This was my early Christmas Eve gift from my Partner. A book on Fashion throughout the years and a 'Vloggers' handbook for Fashion.  I know I'm not a Vlogger but this can still apply to us Bloggers!

2.  My Mum and Dad bought me these from Primark for my bedroom, considering how much I love colour itself and Unicorns haha These will take pride of place in my bedroom!

3. This is my Ab Wheel which I'm sure I'm going to regret asking for   haha. Tiger has to be one of the best stores for random purchases like this.

4. This amazing Christmas Candle which I mentioned in my last post with my similar Mermaid Candle which is from Missguided and they're amazing! They burn slowly and each one has a unique smell plus a splash of glitter scattered in the wax. These would make wonderful gifts for any occasion.

 5. What would Christmas be without a pair of cosy PJs, I love my Dinosaur prints and these ones are from ASOS.

 6. A Flask and a small bottle of Brandy... somebody knows me too well! Knowing me it'll be filled with Water but still a fun gift for any occasion.

7. This sexy faux Leather Jacket from Missguided has to be one of my favourites from the Galore collection. I styled this with my Crushed Velvet boots and my Gold chunky belt both from PLT.

8. My Partner surprised me with these Kendall Jeans from Pretty Little Thing. I love the fit of this pair plus the Sequins make them acceptable for a New Years occasion or maybe even drinks in town...

 9. A beautiful Bracelet from a shop I love called Lola and Grace. I love chunky Gold Jewellery as we all know so I fell in love with this once I saw it.

10. A real Gold name necklace from my Mum and Dad. Something I can keep and treasure forever :)

11. The complete series of the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air! I love DVD box sets, mostly those of comedies, this will be the only thing on my tele after the New Year party is over.

12. This cute Mermaid clutch bag is from my Secret Santa.

13. Plus this cute ASOS Jumper from my Mum and Dad.

14. My Sister bought me this Duster coat from Missguided.

 15. This Leopard print coat is from my Partner, It's the prefect Christmas warm up! I love the patterned finish and I feel very 50s/60s in this fashion piece hence the Pearls ;)

16. My beautiful Snake skin boots from River Island plus a Missguided crop jumper to finish off the look.

17. My two favourite perfumes- RiRi and the Lady Millions by Paco Rabanne.

18. I had to leave this one to last as these have to be the most beautiful boots of all time. SLAYY!!
The incredible Kenzo boots thanks to Kenzo and H&M.
My Partner bought these for me and aren't they just gorgeous!
The pattern the colour the heels, I am just in love. Most of you know how quickly everything from this collection sold out but I managed to get 2 pairs, one being a 6 which I usually am but the boots were too big so I managed to grab the 5 instead.
Again I was spoilt this Christmas, my family know me too well.

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and I wish you a happy and healthy New Year.
Peace x
