Florence to Rome= Travel Diary!

I'm back from the beautiful country of Italy! I've spent 3 nights in  Florence for a Wedding and 3 nights in Rome!
Heres my travel diary plus plenty of pictures and reviews on my outfits.
Enjoy!

As soon as we arrived to the beautiful City of Florence we got to our room and threw on our outfits for the evenings events. We met all the Wedding guests and of course the Bride and Groom to be and had a lovely evening catching up with friends outside enjoying the beautiful weather. I still can't get used to the heat that hits you whenever you step off a plane into a hot country, I was met with lots of nat bites and watery eyeliner but it was worthit.
Plus I got dressed from my airport attire in 15 minutes! That has to be a world record for Girls...

I had a vision of me in a Pink dress on the first night and then a beautiful Red dress for the wedding, not poppy red but RED! I spent over £500 on different dresses for these two events and luckily I found the two that I felt happy with.
I styled this beauty with light Pink heels and my mermaid clutch bag.
This dress is very comfortable and flattering, I didn't need to wear a bra which was nice plus I bought this in a size 8 which after feeling the material I was regretting as it feels thick and tough but it surprisingly has allot of stretch but is tight at the same time.

The Wedding.

The day arrived to attend one of the most spectacular Weddings that I have ever been too. At first I was too hot and bothered to wear my tight red dress and was going to use my back up PLT one. Luckily I stuck to my main dress and it paid off! I felt very glamorous and suited for the incredible venue plus I was actually surprisingly  comfortable.
Again ASOS always comes through. I've lost count on how many times I pulled up ASOS and searched- Red Dresses...
Finally I found this beautiful dress from Lipsy (available on ASOS) I was going for the spanish emoji look and I think i'm quite close to it ;)
Heels are from Missguided old collection.

After a incredible night dancing away and celebrating such a special occasion my Partner and I attended yet another cocktail event to say our goodbyes to the wonderful families of the Bride and Groom plus all of my Partners friends.
I am posting my outfit picture (scroll down) but since it ripped throughout the day not from wear and tear as it was brand new but from the thin material which PLT seemed to be happy with I won't be reviewing this in too much detail. Who needs this in their life? especially while on Holiday. I do love PLT and will be tweeting their customer service team about this but I just have to let my followers know that it certainly isn't a dress I will be replacing even though I love the dress itself it is very poorly made. I would hate for this to happen  to any of you guys so please keep this in mind when purchasing.

^^^^ :(

After a quick change and a nap we met up with my Partners closest friends for a meal at the Hard Rock- Florence.
I love the whole Hard Rock brand, my family and I love visiting the Hard Rock often for their incredible food, music and vibe! If you haven't been to one before, where have you been?
Later on in the evening we walked through Florence town, we saw the beautiful Cathedral and the incredible statues which are pretty much everywhere. We walked for 30 minutes through the Town and back to our Hotel to get ready for our long drive to Rome the next morning :D

Just a glimpse of Florence town and this graffiti that will soon be taken down.
History is incredible, we definitely felt like typical tourists throughout this trip.

Rome.

We arrived in Rome after a wonderful 3 hour drive, my Partner drove in a rental car on their right side of the road but our wrong side lol and it couldn't of gone smoother. Thats until we actually arrived! Have you ever booked a hotel online and turned up realising its an absolute state?
Well thats what happened to us, we booked with booking.com and planned to stay at the wonderfully reviewed Radisson Blu Hotel; even friends were saying how lovely it will be to stay there, I guess this is true but we wouldn't know as we didn't bother going inside. Nobody explained how bad the area would be, we both guessed as we pulled up that the Sat nav had sent us to the wrong hotel but it turns out we were wrong!

After a quick turn around we stayed in our car and quickly booked a hotel called The Valdier... it did say that it wasn't near much but we didn't care. At this point we were desperate and all I kept thinking was Rome isn't like the movies.
Thankfully we drove to our new hotel after the quickest booking of our lives and was so happy to see its perfect location and beautiful room! I wanted to hug the reception team after our stressful arrival. This is what Rome should look like! We was 5 minutes from the Spanish steps, amazing shops and the Trevi fountain. Everywhere we went was on foot and yes we did a years worth of cardio but it really didn't matter. The longest walk was to the Colosseum which was half an hour, not bad if you think about it thanks to Google maps.
Rome has so much beauty in it, you'll be walking through town feeling like you're walking through a museum. Every corner is a picture opp and the music and smells of the wonderful food is what brought it all to life for me.
Throughout our stay we kept comparing and we couldn't praise the hotel Valdier more so thank you so much Hotel Valdier for having us!

First stop- Trevi Fountain :D
I hit the streets with my beautiful Red PLT skirt and an old Tupac crop top from a shop in  America.

A trip to the Vatican, I think this is where the muscle pain came from. 553 steps to reach the top but the view made it all worth while.
Outfit is from Motel but bought from Depop I can't find this on the site sorry. Shoes are my trusty vans oldies but goodies! You can't have a comfy holiday without your Vans.
I had a Red Floral top, with my Blue Floral skirt and my Red Floral Vans, a strange combo but great for visiting the Church as you need your legs and arms covered. Inside I wrapped a red scarf around my shoulders.

Those who know me well know I had an insane fascination with Audrey Hepburn I still envy her elegance and beauty. One of her famous films Roman Holiday was made here and I enjoyed visiting the Spanish steps and small corners of Rome where certain scenes were filmed. I was overly excited to sit on the exact step that she was on in Roman Holiday, I feel like that in itself was a piece of History.
Heres a cute shop we found dedicated to Audrey and her style.

My favourite cocktail- Mojito !!!!

In our room enjoying being a Tourist :)

 Our beautiful Hotel Lobby

After a very successful trip here we are on our last night, legs hurting, feet throbbing and brains aching from all the History we have soaked in throughout our past few days.
My heart is still in Paris I have to say (most beautiful city in the world) but Rome is definitely a place I will hold great memories and love to visit again.
Hope you enjoyed my Travel Diary, till next time...

What I Got For My Birthday

I'm 25! And still feeling 18...

When did my teens slip away? I'm literally at that age where I'm definitely old enough to buy alcohol *cries*
My Birthday was most definitely one of my favourites, I was absolutely spoilt all day plus my Birthday landed on a Saturday so everyone was happy. I woke up to Stevie Wonder singing to me plus a room filled with Mermaid and Unicorn wrapping paper haha. Not only did my Partner spoil me all day he decorated his house with balloons and Unicorns to top it all off!
My Mum did ask- "are you 25 or 5?!"
So now onto the good stuff, heres all my beautiful presents plus the links if you feel inspired!

<3

Pick and Mix Gifts.

Perfume of course is a must especially when it's a Rihanna one. I smelt this when out shopping and loved it, it has a very sweet smell too it and last's all day.
https://www.superdrug.com/Fragrance/Perfume-For-Women/Perfume-Gift-Sets/Rihanna-RiRi-Crush-Eau-de-Parfum-30ml-Gift-Set/p/711637?utm_source=bing&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=PX%2520-%2520GSC%2520-%2520Brand&utm_term=4583657818039348&utm_content=Fragrance&gclid=CNiSj_6zudUCFQgAGwodU1YI3A&gclsrc=ds

My friends know me too well and both these presents were from 2 different friends. They both bought me SO much Unicorn and Mermaid accessories I was lost for words. I love this hair brush and my beautiful clutch bag. Shamefully I can't get the links for these but I'm sure you'll see the clutch bag in New Look!

I love Paramore so my wonderful friend bought me this Album to add to my collection. It's certainly not like their usual music but I love the change in genres and as always the lyrical content is spot on.

I have a drawer full of body moisturisers but I had to try this one out. Soap and Glory are one of my favourite brands, this one doesn't only moisturise but it has a beautiful smell too it. You'll find this in Boots.

Books.

Books on top of books! I will never say no to books when it comes to these occasions so an amazon search left me with this selection of books that my family kindly bought for me. I can't wait to get stuck in and maybe publish more reviews?
Coleen Hoover is an incredible Author so I'll keep you posted on my favourite reads in the future.

This may seem like a random gift; I feel like every home has to have one of these in it. I asked for my Oxford Paperback to help me learn new words when writing plus to help my Poetry which I also have on my other Blog- The Closet Mind.

Writing Awake the Dreamweaver was recommended to me to help inspire more creative ideas for stories and to help inspire my Poetry as well. Check it out-
Its filled with daily tasks to help inspire your stories, I'm excited to start.

Milk and Honey was given to me by my Uncle as he knows I love my Poetry. I'm always inspired when reading other Poetry especially from Poets whose work I haven't read before. My two favourite poets are Carol Anne Duffy and Pablo Neruda. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Milk-Honey-Rupi-Kaur/dp/144947425X/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1501706630&sr=1-1&keywords=milk+and+honey+rupi+kaur

This whole selection of books are from my favourite Authors, I have allot of reading to do!

Main Present.

My main present from my Parents was this amazing Canon Selphy printer. It prints pictures off of your phone all you need to do is connect it to your bluetooth then choose your pictures! The quality is amazing and it's great that it prints onto photo paper. So I can store these into an album instead of the cloud!

Fashion.

These trousers are so comfortable and I love the buttons down the side, apparently we used to wear these in the 90s?
I love the fit and the material is light but thick and strong at the same time. I styled these with my thigh high red boots but you can also dress these down with some cute flats.

My sexy Ego boots! I have styled these with shift dresses and high waisted jeans with a crop top.
I'm usually a 6 in pointed toe but the boot itself was baggy for my legs so I risked the 6 for a 5 and they fit fine.

I LOVE this whole outfit! I feel like somebody off Clueless which is definitely one of my favourite films for Fashion. The bodysuit is from PLT, I got this in a 10 for the length and the material is nice and thick so I won't rip these like I always do tights!

My Family know I love my animal print, I love the ruffles on this skirt and how cute this whole outfit looks together!

Who didn't die for this whole Missguided collection? I couldn't wait to get my hands on this entire collection and what great timing! :D
I was pleasantly surprised at the material of this top and how thick it is, it's nice knowing that a print like this won't fade in the wash. The caption is very much me! I styled this with my Missguided jeans and my cute pink pom pom heels to finish off my 'Barbie' look ;)
Shamefully this has all sold out I'm not surprised but hopefully it'll come back as we all need more!

This beautiful suit isn't a usual colour for me but I really like this fit. I think it suits a taller person like myself and I can't help but feel very sophisticated and tall in it!

I love this flowy skirt for my upcoming holiday! It looks like an old fashioned apron and the material feels like my Nans vintage clothes haha! I mean this in a good way.
I styled this with vans and a basic crop ready for my travels, this is very comfortable and I can see this transformed with heels and a crop for an evening meal.

These are my cute Barbie shorts again from the Missguided range. I'm looking forward to styling these on Holiday.

My final gift was this amazing dress from the Premium range at PLT.
When this new range came out I could of bought the whole lot and my  Partner said I could pick out a dress to wear on the special day and this is what I picked :D I'm a very lucky girl!
The details on this dress are why I love it so much and the quality is a great bonus, it's definitely worth the money. All you have to do is search Premium on PLT and i'm sure you'll be blown away too.

I guess turning 25 wasn't so bad! ;)

My 5 favourites (June)

So far this month I have been loving these few items and finds. I wanted to share with you my 5 favourites of this month and a quick review on them too, enjoy!

1

Minga London is a clothing store I found through a magazine, yeah I know Minga?
The clothes are quite the opposite to me they are right up my street with an array of prints, patterns and cute quirky pictures too. They do the cutest Ts, hoodies and recently swim wear! Theres so much to choose from as each top comes in 4/5 different colours so you can't help but feel like you're styling your own T.
If you enjoy my style and like what you see then this site is for you!

2

I've been searching for a beautiful matte Red for ages now! I have always raved about Milani matte lip but their Red seems to bleed onto my face now and is very dry no matter how moisturised your lips are before applying. So there I am running around superdrug giving each and every brand a fair chance and I come across Barry M.
What you need to do when searching for a trusty matte is to test the product out on your hand and then carry on shopping. While I fish for other things I will keep checking my hand to see how quickly the matte has dried and most importantly does it rub off? Yes its an important process!
I was so happy to find that this lipstick is not only one of my favourite colours but also has a great drying Matte finish!
It's the perfect red for my oh so pale face, its not too bright and not too dark, plus its affordable. I can't wait to try out their other colours.
So if you're a matte girl like me, try the Barry M matte me up.

Having a Free From diet can be hard enough as it is especially if you're a snacker like me. I found this Trek bar in a petrol station one day and was pleasantly surprised that there was a Free From product in site. I've never been a cereal bar kind of girl but when you're in need for a quick snack when out and about this to me is the go too bar. This beautiful treat is incredibly delicious and a great snack in between meals, I'm so addicted I eat around 1/2 a day!
I pop them in my Gym bag for a snack before my work out or when i'm  on the go running errands they quickly solve that feeling of hunger and keep you going till your next big meal.
You can never beat the feeling of a new find in the Free From isle
:)

I came across Girl Boss on Netflix as it has currently been made into a series and I had no idea what I was getting myself into but the summary seemed inspiring in itself so I dived in.
4 days later I had successfully finished the first season and was instantly googling away to find out if there would be another.
On my search I found the book! I didn't know that this was a true story and I was so inspired watching the series that I just had to know more about this Sophia Amoruso.
I won't ruin it for you but lets just say she slays! I love this book because its funny, easy to read and very inspiring, if Sophia can do it then we all can do it but nothing is sugar coated.
Sophia reminds us that in life no matter how much we want something we have to be willing to put our thoughts onto paper and most importantly action! She worked her ass off building such a massive empire and she practically shows you how. Its a spontaneous success story of a every day woman's grind in life and how she became her own Girl Boss.
For those with big dreams this is for you...
I'm slowly working my way through this book (plus taking notes) as theres so much to learn about the business and I don't want to miss anything out. Take your time reading and enjoy this amazing find.

5

300 writing prompts is the most fascinating questionnaire I have ever come across. I found this book on twitter from another fan and then bought a copy from Amazon.
I love creative writing and writing Poetry etc and this book is a great task for the brain. It's filled with questions that you'll probably never hear in your every day life but are very intrigued to answer, I feel you learn more about yourself when writing in this book than any other. It certainly revived the creative side in me and I hope it will for you too.
E.q questions-
  • What makes your look distinctly you?
  • Is having power over someone more important than having his or her respect?
  • What would you rename the planets?
  • If you could have any colour skin for a day, what would you choose?
  • Finish the following thought: "I always wanted to go..."
  • What part of your childhood are you glad you left behind?
  • At what point does silence become awkward?
The book goes deep!

How I style animal print (Faux)

Hey everyone, so to start I absolutely LOVE Animal print or any print at that matter but my style mainly includes Animal prints.
Here's me sharing some of my new purchases plus my favourite animal print pieces and how I style them.
With a bold print you have to make sure you tone down the rest of the look, or just go full out with a full body of print and a plain shoe. Me? I'm all about bold and I love making a statement with these latest fashion pieces, below I am going to explain why I styled this way and how to switch up each look from a day time to an evening vibe. Enjoy !

Look One- The Zebra Slays!

This shirt is from a lovely lady on Depop, I found this while scrolling through my search for more Animal prints and I couldn't believe the condition of this shirt, its very well made plus comfortable to wear.
Even though the print itself is enough of a statement I styled this with a chunky Gold belt from PLT to pinch in my waist to add some shape, plus my new and favourite pair of jeans may I add from Missguided.
They are tight and light! Just what I wanted.
The black sparkly boots finish off my look and a sexy red lip to suit my oh so pale skin.
This could be a night out on the town, chilling in a bar, popping to shoreditch/camden for a drink kind of look.
OR you can die this down with leggings, some vans or pumps and take off the belt for a more sexy baggy shirt look.
I would also change this look by scraping my hair up in a thick bun with some chunky Gold earrings and keep the red lip. Mwah!

Look Two- The Red Leopard

Where do I start with my sexy red Leopard. Well my Missguided faux leather trousers are to absolutely live for! The inside has a nice cotton feel so are very comfortable to slide into but I must say, you will enjoy these on a very cold evening as you can get hot quite easily, plus you will look it! ;)
I styled this statement piece with a sexy red high neck River Island top, and my small Gold name necklace chain.
Then finished this off with my sparkly black boots seen in the look above ^^... need I say more?

Look Three- The Pink Snake

I love this playsuit from PLT its very comfortable and tight to the body, the print being pink was a must have for me! I can't turn down my favourite print with my favourite colour. I love the sexy choker collar with a scoop of boobage on the side haha!
I styled this with my Missguided pink jeans and my crushed velvet boots. I added a PLT Versace looking Gold belt to add some bling! I love my Gold belts as you can see plus my chunky Gold bracelets.

I feel you can pull off the two textures in this outfit, one being the print and the second being the crushed velvet. Since the boots are a casual light pink it finished off the statement of the playsuit and the boldness it brings. I added my Kurt Geiger snakeskin bag to this look as well.

Look Four- Snakeskin casual slay!

I'm not going to lie I asked for these boots for Christmas because I was on a Friends Boxset marathon around that time and I was vibing big time on Rachel's style throughout the seasons. I'm the biggest Friends fan you'll ever meet, shamefully most of my jokes are a Friends gag which I will happily remind you about and act a whole scene out lol.
Rachel wears these boots with a short skirt and shirt so there I am searching on my phone for snake skin boots and River Island comes through!
Again I do love my prints and these boots are my casual print aka not as bold as the first few looks. This is great Autumn wear when you style it with jeans, a band or artist tee and a cute duster.
I love my Duster coats I have one in blue, Leopard print and Pink! I threw this look together to show the versatility of the boots and to let you know how comfortable they are!
They hug your legs in all the right places plus they make me feel like Rachel.. Sad I know.
If you are lucky enough to shop on the New York city streets these boots are the right comfort and style you'll need to slay that shopping trip.

I hope you've enjoyed these looks! Catch me on Insta- ccwhitegold and let me know what you'd like to see more of and how you style your animal prints.
